I’m Mani Brar. I believe that transformation is possible through awareness and intention. Therapy offers a space to reflect on the past and gain insight into our current experiences, allowing for meaningful change. By integrating awareness and intention into our daily lives, we can create a bridge between where we've been and where we want to go.
Growing up as a second-generation immigrant from a South Asian background, I’ve always recognized how deeply culture and identity impact our daily experiences. This understanding shapes how I work with clients, ensuring I approach each person with cultural sensitivity and an openness to the diverse backgrounds they bring.
My approach includes understanding how past experiences, culture, and values can impact one’s life, as well as focusing on the present and learning new ways of coping. I collaborate with my clients to develop personalized treatment goals, using a holistic therapy approach that supports healing by integrating the mind, body, and spirit.
My goal as a psychologist is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where we can explore the question of why and explore current struggles to create pathways to change.
I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC and the College of Alberta Psychologists. With over 12 years of experience, I have supported individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, trauma, low self-esteem and grief. My work has taken me across a variety of settings, including primary care, rural communities, and private practice, allowing me to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
